These delicious kiwi lime yogurt popsicles for kids are sure to be a hit this summer! Sweetened with honey only and full of probiotics, these are gut healthy too!

We make homemade popsicles every summer Usually its just some of our favorite kefir smoothies added to a popsicle mold and frozen for a few hours. But, sometimes we get fancy and throw together an extra special combination. They cool us down on those hot summer days.
Plus, homemade means we can add ingredients that make us feel great too! No sugar, no food dyes, and only real fruit. We also love to add in probiotics, from yogurt or kefir, for the gut health benefits.
Popsicles for kids are a great way to sneak in those nutrients that picky eaters may otherwise be missing.
Your kids won’t touch avocado? Bet they’d never notice it in a popsicle!
Greens never made it near your toddler’s mouth? Bet they would go down easily in a frozen raspberry and mango pop.
There is something transformative about freezing everything and eating it off of a stick. Things kids may ordinarily turn their noses up to go down without a fight when they’re disguised as a tasty popsicle.

We had to play around with this recipe a bit to get it just right! The first time we made it with plain coconut milk. The zip of the lime needed a bit of something to complement it. My husband suggested yogurt. They also needed just a bit more honey the second time around.
Kiwi are such a low sugar fruit. The same is true for raspberries, strawberries and blueberries.
When making popsicles with bananas, cut the amount of sugar in half and omit it. They already have plenty of sugar.
Tips for Making Popsicles for Kids
- Add a probiotic rich base. Yogurt and kefir are great examples. They make these kiwi lime popsicles creamy, tart and gut healthy. If you can’t tolerate dairy, substitute coconut yogurt. For more gut healthy benefits, add 1/4 teaspoon of probiotic powder as well.
- Add fruits. Berries, bananas, pineapple and mangoes are delicious options. For a kick of flavor, add fresh squeezed lemon or lime juice, like we do in these kiwi lime yogurt popsicles.
- Sweeten it up. Use a natural sweetener, like honey or maple syrup to round out the tart flavor.
- Consider adding vegetables, or vegetable juices. Freshly juiced carrots have a sweet flavor that the kids will never notice, or might actually enjoy! Add 1/4 cup to the blender for a shot of antioxidants and vitamins. Pureed cooked sweet potatoes, fresh beet juice, half a ripe avocado or a handful of spinach are more great options.
How long do Yogurt Popsicles Keep in the Freezer?
Yogurt popsicles keep up to two weeks when wrapped tightly in the freezer.
After freezing them, run the molds under hot water until the popsicles can be easily removed. Layer them in a glass pan with parchment paper in between. Cover with a silicone lid and store in the freezer.
The storage length has never been an issue in our home. We usually eat them in about 10 minutes!
Variation of Kiwi Lime Yogurt popsicles for kids
- Substitute the yogurt for homemade milk kefir. It is simple to make once you have a starter culture. Just add the milk to the grains, let it sit at room temperature for 24-48 hours, and then strain it off. Milk kefir keeps for up to two weeks in the refrigerator. Get more info on how to make your own milk kefir in this post.
- Use coconut milk yogurt. Coconut milk yogurt is easy to make. Just use a vegan yogurt starter to inoculate the coconut milk with the healthy bacteria. See more on this process here.
- Omit the lime juice for a less tart variety.
- Add a half ripened half avocado to sneak a little more nutrition in your kids’ diets. The lime juice will help the avocado keep its nice bright green color. Since it will blend right in with the green in the limes and kiwi, your kids will never notice it’s there!
- Add a handful of fresh spinach for added antioxidants.
My kids love these kiwi lime popsicles. They taste great on a hot and humid midwest summer day.
Sometimes we make pumpkin spice yogurt popsicles in the fall.
Have fun playing around with the combinations and getting some more nutrition into even the pickiest of eaters.
